Hey there Yahtzee fans! We’ve got a treat for you today. We stumbled upon this free printable Yahtzee score card and we can’t wait to share it with you. But first, let’s talk about this awesome game and some of our hilarious experiences with it.
The Game of Yahtzee
If you’ve never played Yahtzee before, you are in for a real treat. It’s a classic dice game that’s all about luck and strategy. The object of the game is to score the most points by rolling five dice to make specific combinations. Each player gets a turn to roll the dice up to three times per turn to try and get the highest score possible.
Some of the combinations you’re aiming for include:
- Ones, Twos, Threes, Fours, Fives, and Sixes: The sum of the dice with matching numbers
- Three of a Kind: Any three dice with the same number
- Four of a Kind: Any four dice with the same number
- Full House: A pair of dice and a three of a kind
- Small Straight: Four sequential dice (ex: 1, 2, 3, 4)
- Large Straight: Five sequential dice (ex: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
- Yahtzee: Five dice with the same number
- Chance: The sum of all the dice
Sounds easy enough, right? Well, not quite. Sometimes you’ll get on a roll and get a Yahtzee on your first roll, while other times you’ll be rolling for hours just to get a small straight.
Our Hilarious Yahtzee Stories
Speaking of rolling for hours, we’ve definitely had our fair share of crazy Yahtzee moments. Here are a few of our favorites:
The Endless Game
We once played a game of Yahtzee that lasted over five hours. Yes, you read that right - five hours! We were all so determined to win that we just kept rolling and rolling until we finally had a winner. Needless to say, we were all pretty exhausted by the end of it.
The Competitive Couple
We have a couple of friends who take Yahtzee very seriously. Like, really seriously. They get so competitive and heated during the game that we’ve actually had to pull them apart a few times. It’s all in good fun though, and we still love playing with them (we just make sure to keep an eye on them when the game gets intense).
The Rookie Mistake
We were playing a game with some friends who had never played Yahtzee before. One of them got a Yahtzee on their first roll and was so excited that they yelled out “SCRABBLE!” instead of “YAHTZEE!” We all had a good laugh about it and continued playing, but we still tease them about it to this day.
