Hey y’all, hope you’re doing well today. I wanted to talk about prepositions, because they’re one of those things that can be a bit tricky to get the hang of, especially if you’re just starting to learn English. Lucky for you, I’ve got a list of the 100 most common prepositions to help you out!
At
“At” is a really versatile preposition. You can use it to talk about a specific point in time or space. For example, “I’ll meet you at the restaurant at 6pm” or “There’s a bird at the window”.
On
“On” is another preposition that can be used in a lot of different ways. You can use it to talk about physical location, like “The book is on the table”, or to talk about days of the week, like “I have a meeting on Monday”.
In
“In” is a preposition that’s used to talk about being inside something, like “I’m in my office”, or to talk about a period of time, like “I’m going on vacation in August”.
Of
“Of” is a preposition that’s used to show possession, like “The book is the property of the library”. It can also be used to talk about what something is made of, like “The table is made of wood”.
