Alright party people, get ready to jump on the Hawkeye hype train because we’ve got the Iowa football schedule for 2019! If you’re not excited, then you clearly haven’t been paying attention to the awesomeness that is Hawkeye football.
Week 1: August 31st, MIAMI (OH)
First up, we’ve got the Miami RedHawks coming to Kinnick Stadium. Sure, they may be from Ohio, but they won’t stand a chance against our boys in black and gold. I mean, have you seen our defense? It’s like trying to get past a brick wall.
Week 2: September 7th, RUTGERS
Next, we’ve got the Rutgers Scarlet Knights coming to town. Now, I know what you’re thinking - “Who even is Rutgers?” But let me tell you, they are not to be underestimated. However, with Hawkeye Nation cheering them on, our boys are sure to come out on top.
Week 3: September 14th, IOWA STATE
Week 3 brings us the always thrilling Cy-Hawk game against the Cyclones of Iowa State. This is always a heated match-up, and this year will be no different. But let’s be real, we all know where bragging rights will lie at the end of the day. Go Hawks!
Week 4: September 28th, MIDDLE TENNESSEE
After a tough battle against the Cyclones, our boys get a bit of a break with Middle Tennessee coming to town. Not to say that they won’t put up a fight, but we’ll take any opportunity for a win we can get.
Week 5: October 5th, MICHIGAN
Next up, we’ve got the Wolverines of Michigan coming to Kinnick. Now this will be a true test of our boys’ skills, but I have faith that they can pull it off. Plus, who doesn’t love watching Michigan lose? Sorry not sorry.
Week 6: October 12th, PENN STATE
Week 6 brings another tough opponent in the Nittany Lions of Penn State. But with their loss to us last year, they’ll be coming in hot and ready for revenge. Little do they know the fight they’re up against - they may be lions, but we are hawks.
Week 7: October 19th, PURDUE
After back-to-back tough games, Purdue comes to town. Sorry Boilermakers, but you’ll be no match for our boys’ strength and determination. Plus, have you seen those pink locker rooms? That’s enough to intimidate anyone.
Week 8: October 26th, NORTHWESTERN
Now, the Wildcats of Northwestern may not be the most feared team in the Big Ten, but they always put up a good fight. However, on our home turf, I have no doubt that our boys will come out on top.
Week 9: November 9th, WISCONSIN
Week 9 brings us another tough game against the Badgers of Wisconsin. But with the power of Hawkeye Nation behind them, our boys will be no match. Plus, have you tasted a breaded pork tenderloin from a Wisconsin gas station? Trust me, you don’t want to be associated with that.
Week 10: November 16th, MINNESOTA
Last but not least, we’ve got the Gophers of Minnesota coming to Kinnick. But let’s be real - the real competition here is for the Floyd of Rosedale trophy. And there’s no way that bad boy is leaving Hawkeye territory.
