As a parent, I am always on the lookout for activities that will keep my kids engaged and having fun. That’s why I decided to try out the Hand, Feet Hopscotch activity that my kiddos enjoyed in class. And let me tell you, it was a hit!
What is Hand, Feet Hopscotch?
If you’ve never heard of Hand, Feet Hopscotch before, don’t worry! It’s a super easy activity to set up and play. Basically, you draw a traditional hopscotch grid on the ground, but instead of hopping on one foot, you use your hands and feet to move through the grid.
It might sound a bit confusing, but trust me, it’s really fun once you get the hang of it. Plus, it’s a great way to get your kids moving and get some exercise in.
How to Play Hand, Feet Hopscotch
Here’s how to set up and play Hand, Feet Hopscotch:
- Draw a traditional hopscotch grid on the ground with chalk, or use a masking tape on your floor if playing indoors.
- Number the squares 1-10 (or however many squares you want to include).
- Start with one hand and one foot on square 1. Move your free hand and foot to square 2, keeping your other hand and foot on square 1.
- Move your second hand and foot to square 2, then move your first hand and foot to square 3.
- Continue moving through the grid in this way, making sure to always have one hand and one foot on the same square.
- If you step on a line or lose your balance, you are out! The next player then takes a turn.
- The winner is the last player standing.
It’s that simple! You can play with just two people, or with a whole group. If you have more than two people, you can take turns or play all at once. Just make sure there’s enough space for everyone to move.
