So, I stumbled upon some weird stuff today while browsing the interwebs. It’s a collection of DMV eye charts. Now, I don’t know about you, but the DMV is already a scary place for me, so the thought of eye tests just makes it even worse! But hey, at least these eye charts are kind of interesting. Let’s take a look, shall we?
First up, we have this gem:
Now, I’m not sure how accurate this one is since it’s just a printable from Pinterest, but hey, it’s colorful and looks like it could be fun. Maybe it’s the DMV’s attempt to make eye tests less intimidating? Who knows.
Next, we have something a little more official:
This one is a photo of an actual DMV eye chart. I don’t know about you, but those letters look pretty small to me! Let’s hope they have bigger versions available for us visually challenged folks.
And then we have this:
Um, why is there a person on this eye chart? I’m not sure if I’m supposed to be looking at the letters or the person’s face. Maybe this is a new way of measuring visual acuity AND facial recognition skills. DMV, you sly dogs!
Our next contestant:
This one looks pretty standard, but it’s hosted on a website for something called the Bates Method. Apparently, it’s a natural vision correction program. Maybe they’re trying to throw the DMV out of business by helping people see better without glasses or contacts. Sneaky, sneaky.
And now for something completely different:
Okay, what even is this? Is this a DMV eye chart or a maze? How am I supposed to read those letters? Do I have to connect them in a certain order? I’m so confused. Maybe this is just a test to see if you’re prone to getting lost and needing directions from strangers.
Back to basics:
Ah, there we go. This looks like a more traditional eye chart. Although, I have to say, I’m not sure why there’s a random bike on it. Is this an eye test for cyclists? Are they trying to weed out people who can’t see bikers on the road? DMV, you’re full of surprises.
And last but not least:
This one looks like it was made in Microsoft Paint. I don’t know about you, but those letters look pretty squished together to me. Maybe they’re trying to test our ability to distinguish between letters that are practically overlapping. DMV, always pushing us to our limits.
