Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and if you’re struggling to come up with a fun activity for your kids or students, we’ve got you covered. Check out these heart-shaped crayons, complete with a free printable that will make your loved ones feel extra special.
Craft Supplies:
To make these heart-shaped crayons, you’ll need:
- Old or broken crayons
- Heart-shaped silicone mold
- Oven preheated to 200 degrees F (or 90 degrees C)
Instructions:
- Peel off the paper from the old or broken crayons. You can use any colors you like, but make sure to separate them by color.
- Break the crayons into small pieces and fill the heart-shaped silicone mold with the pieces. You don’t need to fill the mold completely, just make sure it’s enough to cover the bottom and the sides.
- Place the mold in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the crayons have melted completely.
- Take the mold out of the oven and let it cool down for at least 20 minutes or until the crayons have completely hardened.
- Once the crayons have cooled down, gently remove them from the mold. You should have a bunch of adorable heart-shaped crayons ready to use!
Free Printable:
As promised, we’ve also included a free printable that will make your heart-shaped crayons even more special. Print out the template and cut along the dotted lines. Then use a hole punch to make a hole at the bottom of the tag and tie it to your crayons with a ribbon or a piece of twine.
This is a fun and easy Valentine’s Day activity that kids of all ages will love. It’s a great way to repurpose old or broken crayons while giving your loved ones a thoughtful and personalized gift. Happy crafting!
