5 Little Pumpkins Sitting On A Gate Printable

Well hello there my beautiful people! Today I wanted to share with y’all some adorable images that I found while browsing the interwebs. These little pumpkins stole my heart and I just had to pass on the love! So without further ado, check out these sweet little pumpkins and their story.

The Story of Five Little Pumpkins

Five little pumpkins sitting on a fenceOnce upon a time, there were five little pumpkins sitting on a fence. Each one had a stem as green as grass and they were as round as can be. They were so excited for Halloween and couldn’t wait to see what spooky adventures awaited them.

The first little pumpkin said, “Oh my, oh me! Halloween is near, I can hardly see!”

The second little pumpkin said, “There are witches and bats, and ghosts that will scare, but I’m not afraid, for I’m a big scare!”

The third little pumpkin said, “I don’t like witches, they give me a fright! But I’ll be brave and I’ll stay up all night.”

The fourth little pumpkin said, “I hear something in the air, it’s getting closer and closer, oh where, oh where?”

The fifth little pumpkin said, “I’m ready for a trick or treat, I have my candy and my costume, oh it will be so sweet!”

Ordinal Numbers

Ordinal Numbers 1-10Now, you might be thinking, “what in the world are ordinal numbers?” Well, let me break it down for ya. Ordinal numbers are numbers that show the order or position of something. For example, the first little pumpkin, the second little pumpkin, and so on. It’s like when you’re in line at the store, you’re either first, second, third, and so on. See? Easy peasy!

So, let’s use our little pumpkins as examples:

  • The first little pumpkin was at the beginning of the line.
  • The second little pumpkin was right after the first.
  • The third little pumpkin was next in line.
  • The fourth little pumpkin was right after the third.
  • And the fifth little pumpkin was at the very end.

See how that works? Now you’re a pro at ordinal numbers!

Wrapping It Up

Well folks, that’s all for today’s story time. I hope you enjoyed hanging out with these five little pumpkins as much as I did. Who knows, maybe they’ll come to life on Halloween and we can all join in on their adventures! Until next time, stay spooky my friends.
